SURFACE COATINGS

Protective and functional surface treatments.

Asır Defense applies various surface coating processes to enhance the strength of metal surfaces, improve corrosion resistance, and ensure optimal paint adhesion. Each type of coating is selected based on the environmental conditions and operational requirements of the relevant platform.

Types of Coating

Galvanized Coating

A layer of zinc is applied to steel and iron surfaces to prevent rust and corrosion. It provides long-lasting external protection and is used particularly on armored vehicle chassis and fasteners.

Anodizing

An oxide layer formed on aluminum surfaces through an electro-chemical process hardens the surface and provides an aesthetic appearance. It offers the advantages of lightness and strength in aircraft applications.

Alodin Coating

A chromate-based process that provides corrosion resistance prior to painting on aluminum and magnesium alloys. It preserves electrical conductivity and provides a suitable substrate for primer applications.

Phosphate Coating

By forming a microcrystalline layer on steel surfaces, it enhances paint and oil adhesion. It improves mechanical strength and adhesion performance; it is particularly preferred for land-based platforms.

Blackening Coating

Used on firearm and ammunition components, this process imparts a dark-toned oxide layer to the surface, providing both corrosion resistance and light reflection control.
